K-Mart Double Coupons next week!

Remember April

The days of doubling coupons are back at Kmart on July 4-10th

These are for certain locations only
Oahu- Kapolei
Kauai- Lihue
Big Island- Kailua-Kona
Maui- Kahului

Same rules apply:
1. You need to sign up for a Shop Your Way Now card- there is one you can print after you sign up and use next week while you wait for the real card.
2. Coupons can be up to $2 in value, may not use the same kind of coupon more than once.
3. Only the first 5 coupons used will double per card per day.  So choose wisely!

Please share your double coupon deals!

Thanks to P3 for the tip!

Attention KMart Shoppers! (I've always wanted to say that!)

Beware of the KMart deal. If you're concerned about your Rewards card and earning enough points to buy something someday, the KMart double couponing results in your rewards points being askew (better word than I really wanted to say!).

You will earn your points on the actual value of your item but, if your doubled coupon is worth more than your item costs, the actual value of the doubled coupon will be deducted from your account.

For instance, deodorant costs $3.49. You have a coupon for $2 that, when doubled, takes only the value of the deodorant or $3.49 off your total (KMart doesn't do overage). Up front, that's as it should be. It's behind the scenes when the trouble starts.

During this purchase, you've earned $.35 for purchasing the deodorant but, then, they take off for the coupon (probably as it should be but definitely not stated anywhere!). Instead of taking off the $.35, the computers will take off $.40 because your coupon was $2 -- regardless of how much was actually used. Your Rewards account may end up negative if it's new.

They were sent many nastygrams from the people in the Chicago area when they completed their double couponing in April and found out their account was negative. Sears Holding basically didn't care and fed everyone a line if they sent a response at all. (I didn't get one.)

So, just be aware of the fact that if you're relying on the card for savings to be used for big(ger) ticket items, this will mess it up.

I only got the card so I could do the doubles, no issue for me!
