Tip Tuesday: Saving on gas in Hawaii

Briggs & Stratton 85053 5-Gallon Gas Can Auto Shut-Off (CARB Compliant)
As gas prices here get more and more ridiculous, it's time to help each other find ways to save.

Wholesale- Costco and Sam's have their price per gallon usually $.20-.30 less than other gas stations

Foodland card at Aloha Gas- show your Maika'i card to get $.05 off per gallon at Aloha Gas locations (not 7-11) *Must pay cash

Plan your trips- getting more done on one trip.

Fill up in a bigger area- compare on sites like HawaiiGasBuddy

Also, for emergency purposes, I keep my tank at least half full.  Which means I fill up more often, but they are smaller increments so it hasn't hurt too bad yet!

What other ideas do you use?  We can all use help on this one!

Thanks to you I just used my maika'i card today at Aloha Gas for a discount! You have to pay cash, but they had an ATM there so it worked. Thanks for sharing this tip!
